Courses, courses, courses!!
Our most popular course is the 2 week Foundation to Advanced Make Up Certificate Course.
Why?
Well, it is an affordable, intensive course that starts from the absolute basics and works up through to advanced techniques. That is the short answer however there is much, much more to this course.
As a Safe Beauty School, we take hygiene VERY seriously and we make sure that all of our students do too. It is drummed into you from the word go and just to make sureĀ Antonia Hawke herself joins us for a morning to present the shocking facts about why you must practice safe beauty as a make up artist.
You are introduced to kit, products and skin prep, your knowledge of skin tones and textures will be developed and you will be ready to set out on your journey of learning! Nicci Jackson designed the syllabus in such a way to build upon everything you learn each and every day so you repeat the process therefore learning it thoroughly. You will learn how to create the perfect base (to quote Nastya and Terrie from our October 2010 Course ‘without the base, there is no face’) and then continue to work on this essential skill through the week as you add on other techniques such as lips and eyes.
Mornings are mainly demonstrations and theory with afternoons being dedicated to practical sessions. This gives you the chance to practice, practice, practice!!
After a quick rest day – by now you will be sleeping, breathing and eating (not literally) make up – you will return for the second week.
As each day you focus on a different area of make up - TV/Film, Editorial, Glamour, Catwalk and so on – you will be adding to your expanding skill set, perhaps already deciding which area is for you. Continual assessments ensure you are kept up to speed on your strengths and any areas that require more work. One to one meetings with tutors and assistants give you the chance to ask questions and delve deep into the industry.

Within this week you will be taken on a shopping morning to MAC, Illamasqua and Charles Fox where you can enjoy fantastic discounts and then go for lunch with your fellow students.
On your final day, your creative day, you will share mood boards, try out your final looks and hopefully banish any last minute nerves as you iron out any hitches in your creative masterpieces! A fun and lighthearted day in many ways however always tinged with a bittersweet sadness as you know your course is drawing to a close.
